The Centre for Learning and Children's Rights (CLCR) is an Australian, international not-for-profit organization that delivers educational and humanitarian projects in Nepal.
Learn MoreOur philosophy is based upon providing quality, child-centered, violence-free educational opportunities to as many Nepali children as possible, regardless of age, gender, religion or caste.
Learn MoreIt is our aim to influence educational methods used throughout Nepal via use of the most up to date educational practices from Australian schools, organisations and universities we partner with, so as many Nepali teachers as possible will experience and understand that there are progressive teaching practices, and student management methods, that are available and easy to implement
Learn MoreAs a volunteer, my stay was short but, due to the willingness and determination of the staff, I was able to pass the knowledge of current teaching and learning methods and issues.
I enjoyed my stay in HA to a level that my initial two month plan became five and my planning for a meaningful experience was fulfilled thanks to the wonderful people I met in and outside of the school.
As I reflect on my time here, more than anything, I am filled with admiration for the work these people are doing here and the very obvious and immediate benefits I can see the students enjoying.
The Heartland School is a very impressive organisation with strong roots in the local community of Bafal, Kathmandu, Nepal. We were very impressed with the quality of education at Heartland and the friendly atmosphere amongst students and teachers.
I can't hope to properly express my gratitude for you allowing us into your amazing school. . It's an unbelievable school with an atmosphere that encourages creativity and a love of learning. I feel very lucky to have spent those days at Heartland, and I could've only wished to have been able to stay there longer
