HA is CLCR Australia's first and longest running educational project in Nepal. It is a co-educational school that is built upon partnering with a local team of passionate Nepali educational professionals. Our school offers classes from kindergarten through to higher secondary class ten and since 2015 we have branched out into tertiary, higher education level of study offering Science Research and Innovation, Management of Business, Hospitality across grades 11-12 and in 2019 we commenced delivery of a specially designed, high impact teacher training education stream to enhance the quality of teaching across the country.
Due to CLCR's governance, Heartland operates on a different level to other schools within Nepal. For example, Heartland is service-orientated, the teaching methods are child-centred, and classroom numbers are limited to build greater student-teacher learning relationships. It utilizes student management methods free from the violence currently used to discipline students in Nepal. It champions the use of democratic education and has gradually introduced this method to bring greater choice and options for the students to engage in throughout their educational experiences from Nursery through to our tertiary grade 12.
Heartland targets specifically the underprivileged population sectors such as the untouchable castes, the indigenous, disabled youth, orphaned children, and the women of the country through long term educational scholarship opportunities.
As of 2025 we have provided over 1, 340 scholarships to create educational equality and long-term educational opportunity for predominately young women at Heartland.
The school has successfully graduated 1,282 students with higher education qualifications and currently has 83 students completing their final year of tertiary education with us. Out of 1,282 students up to 75% achieved greater than 90% in their final National assessments. With more than 95% of Heartland alumni attaining full time, meaningful employment in the first-year post studies. With many students, especially young women returning to take up teaching positions at Heartland within the school or college sector.Heartland is a large, student-centred innovative school taking the best of educational practice, programs, and resources to support the underprivileged sectors of Nepal’s population change their lives through educational opportunity.
